The AutoCAD Status Bar at the bottom-right of your screen is packed with productivity toggles. Customizing it allows drafters to eliminate visual clutter and ensure critical tools are only one click away.
1. The Hamburger Customization Menu (Three Lines)
Click the three horizontal lines (hamburger icon) in the bottom-right corner to open the Status Bar menu. Check the tools you use daily and uncheck the ones you never touch (such as Isometric Drafting or Dynamic Input if you prefer command-line drafting).
2. Adding the Layer Drop-Down to the Quick Access Toolbar
Constantly switching ribbon tabs just to change layers wastes time. Click the small drop-down arrow at the very top-left of the AutoCAD window (Quick Access Toolbar) and check Layer. Now your full layer list is permanently accessible regardless of which ribbon tab you are working on!
3. Annotation Scale & Auto-Scale Controls
Make sure Annotation Scale and Annotation Visibility are enabled on your status bar. This guarantees text, dimensions, and hatch patterns scale automatically across 1:50, 1:100, or 1:200 detail viewports.
